WINNERS
Masondale (Race 1) Masondale started a dominant favourite and won as expected. He has now recorded two wins from as many starts over 900m at the Gold Coast.
Lyrical Prince (Race 3) Lyrical Prince overraced in the early stages but it didn’t cost him. He looked like a sitting duck when New Horizons loomed on the outside, but he ran away in the final stages of the race.
Arc Light (Race 6)
Arc Light became the longestpriced winner at the Gold Coast in some time. Odds of as much as $126 were available and there is no doubt that trainer Barry Baldwin has worked wonders with the Congrats mare. LOSERS
Holbrook (Race 5)
Holbrook was strongly supported with Ladbrokes, but it was an awful watch for punters who took the short price. He was under pressure a long way from home and failed to respond.
Miss Fialka (Race 6)
No horse was better backed than Miss Fialka and nothing went right. She was caught wide and Craig Franklin went for the whip a long way from home. She was found to be lame after the race.
NEXT TIME
Lulu Express (Race 2)
She may have been beaten as a short-priced favourite, but Lulu Express lost no admirers. She was taken on in the early stages and did well to fight on.
Shout Out (Race 5)
A gallant performance from Shout Out. He led at a solid tempo and looked tired at the 200m mark. He kept on fighting and it took a classy effort from Black Wand to catch him.
