Cannabis use in genes

A STUDY of more than 180,000 people worldwide has identified 35 genes that influence whether people are likely to use cannabis recreationally.

The research, co-led by QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute scientist Eske Derks, uncovered genetic overlaps between cannabis use, mental health conditions including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and certain personality traits.
