PROMINENT Gold Coast company HTG Solutions has given TAFE Queensland students the chance to develop the creative pitch of a lifetime.

Three TAFE Queensland students will do work experience at the business,

which employs more than 250 staff. The top three finalists were Meggan Zischke, Pedro Queiroz and Callum Schilg. Cate Hammond was highly commended.

Ms Zischke and Mr Queiroz took out the assessment with their winning pitch, which will soon be integrated into HTG’s recruitment campaign.

Danielle Norton-Smith,

group development manager for HTG, said she was impressed by the presentations.

“After reviewing all the students’ work, we were delighted to offer two TAFE Queensland students the opportunity to bring their creative recruitment concepts to life,” she said.

“In addition to this, seeing Cate Hammond’s response today at the announcement was priceless.”

Guided by the HTG’s values of customer advocacy, curiosity, trust and integrity, friendship and professionalism — the students were tasked with a campaign aimed at an audience aged from 20 to 35.

Each student brought an array of ideas and personality to the table — that was said to be aligned to the bold and innovative values of HTG.

Mrs Norton-Smith said the idea for the recruitment pitch came to her after a personal tour of the campus.

“I realised after meeting some of the students that we can build on the experience and skills to fulfil a business need, yet at the same time allow the talented students to put their creativity to the test of a real-life scenario,” she said.

“Our organisation is always looking for outstanding employees and our culture is to recognise and celebrate our team members and company successes. We gave the students feedback on their presentations on what worked well as well as areas of improvement that would grow their confidence and creativity in a positive way.”

Ms Zischke said she dedicated her time into focusing on the assets that needed to be created to ensure it would be effective for all social media channels.

Ms Zischke’s presentation looked at the basic psychological needs of enjoyment, belonging, freedom and empowerment and built the connection of her artwork to the client’s values.

“It was an awesome experience for such a forward thinking company to commit to investing in learning and offer real-life opportunities for development to the next generation,” Ms Zischke said.

The winners each received a gift voucher from the company and bragging rights for the recruitment and engagement campaigns.
