Palmy plan goes public

-

COMMUNITY consultation has begun on an 11-storey retirement village proposed for Palm Beach.

The 3304sq m site, bordered by the ocean and Gold Coast Highway, has 177 units across 11 levels including 108 highcare bedrooms, 24 dementia care bedrooms and 45 high care suites. The plans were filed with the Gold Coast City Council in March by Regis Healthcare for the site, which was previously owned by Mick Doohan. Regis last year spent $12.1 million on the site, which Doohan had earmarked for a tavern. Public comment closes on September 21.
