Bears votes spread far

-

LEADING Burleigh players could pay for their team’s allround balance when the Intrust Super Cup’s top individual prize is announced in Brisbane tonight.

The Bears have had a stellar season to finish second on the ladder heading into finals.

However, their wide range of contributors could count against them in the race to the coveted Civoniceva best and fairest medal.

Ipswich captain Nat Neale had opened up a significant gap over the highest-ranked Bears player by the time votes were last publicly announced at the end of Round 10.

At that point, Neale had polled 15 votes.

Burleigh hooker Pat Politoni was known to be leading the club in the medal race after Round 11, when he had accrued eight votes.
