Alert over Lyle scam

CHARITABLE Australians have been warned not to be fooled by fake fundraising accounts that ask for donations in relation to former Australian golfer Jarrod Lyle.

The scam accounts, which have appeared on Facebook and Instagram, come three weeks after the much-loved golfer’s death.

One of the fake Instagram accounts, called “jarrodchallenge”, is believed to have targeted people in a bid to cash in on the tragedy of the golf champion’s death.

Widow Briony Lyle slammed the fake accounts and urged people not to give them any personal details or to believe their claims.
