End to bias on boards

-

PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk says her government is close to achieving its goal of equal gender representation on its boards.

Ms Palaszczuk told a Women on Boards event in Brisbane yesterday that 47 per cent of representatives on government boards were women – close to a target of 50 per cent by 2020.

“If government can set the example that if we can have 50 per cent of women on boards by 2020, business, the community and other organisations will also go about making that change,” she said.

In 2016, Deloitte found equal representation on boards would lead to $87 million in annual productivity gains in Queensland.
