Prizes awarded for crossing road safely
STUDENTS from Elanora State High School have been awarded prizes for correctly crossing the road outside of their school.
One particular concern Palm Beach officers had – students using their phones while crossing the road – was not observed.
This was a pleasing result, police said.
High school students were given McDonald’s vouchers and promotional pens.
Elanora State Primary School pupils were treated to a lollipop when they safely crossed the road.
Police did find one young student riding a bicycle without his hands and on his phone – and so was disqualified. Police said the road safety campaign was being well received.
