A CAUSE CLOSE TO THE HEART

NEXT week is Legacy Week, a time when fundraising to help the families of our deceased and incapacitated veterans hits top gear. Someone who truly appreciates the work done by Legacy is Olympic gold medal winner, swimmer Duncan Armstrong. As the MC at the St Hilda’s Foundation Legacy Lunch he told a personal tale of how his family was a beneficiary of the charity’s great work. Duncan’s grandfather was captured in WWI and spent time in a Turkish prison. Upon his return to Australia it was Legacy who assisted the family and in part helped to produce an Olympic champion.
