Blyth’s pie for Country

BOND University lock Angus Blyth scored a try in Queensland Country’s triumphant start to their National Rugby Championship title defence.

Country scored seven tries to five to post a 45-35 win over Canberra at Viking Park on Saturday night.

Country lost the corresponding Round 1 fixture last year before defeating Canberra in the grand final.

On Saturday, they controlled the match for the most part, with hooker Alex Casey and winger Jock Campbell both crossing twice.

Blyth scored shortly after halftime.
