Watch out for koalas

COOMERA locals are urged to be aware of koalas crossing the road along Finnegan Way and Kerkin Rd as several of the animals were spotted in the area last night.

A spokeswoman from the Coomera Conservation Group said a number of koalas had been spotted attempting to cross the busy roads.

“We’ve had a few reports of koalas in trees close to Finnegan,” she said. “A welfare check has been conducted by Wildcare and the koalas are currently placed high in trees but there is concern about cars when they move on.”
