DEAD COME TO LIFE AT SURFERS

- ANDREW POTTS andrew.potts@news.com.au

THE walking dead will come alive in the streets of Surfers Paradise next month as part of a three-day celebration of zombies.

The Glitter Strip’s inaugural ‘Fest-Evil’ will be held from October 26-28 and will be headlined by the Surfers Paradise Zombie Walk.

The event raises funds for the Brain Foundation charity which raises money for research into neurological disorders, brain disease and injures.

Family friendly events held during the festival include performances of Michael Jackson’s iconic 1983 zombiethemed hit Thriller and an ‘ooky spooky’ children’s magic show.

Halloween-style markets selling costumes and make-up for the zombie walk will be held nightly across the weekend until 9pm.

A series of free events will be held across the Surfers Paradise precinct, featuring fire eating, angle grinding and a live performance, called the Voodoo Revue.
