I’M not a vegetarian because I hate killing animals. I’m a vegetarian because I hate plants. - Wally

JS, 25 years ago the banks were not taking in fees and charges equivalent to their profits.

The GC Show was broken. move it from Southport and you will break what you just fixed. - EBA

Dear Rambo, Abbott has spent more time with indigenous than any other fed. Marco Polo

Totally agree with you R.R. Pass it to the wings. I keep saying the same thing. They keep on trying to bulldoze in the middle without success. We should take on coaching. Zodiac

Rita Panahi, excellent article yesterday. A famous “MAN”copped it 1982-1985 years ago, by the then “Millitant Minority”. More recently Tony copped it, Scott is copping it now. Same now as then – the silent majority still follow democracy. Scott I commend you on your stand with our flag. Australia is a great country, let, s forge ahead and not back. Viva Australia. Italian Johnny.

Got a script from Southern end chemist on Friday (public holiday) and was charged 19. I had paid 5.20 in Melb and 7 locally previously. I was told the additional 12 was due to a public holiday. After requesting price match I was eventually refunded 8. I do not mind paying an additional 1 to cover public holiday rate but I think an additional 12 for same product is highway robbery! I have never heard of this public holiday price gouging before so beware.

Errol. What colour are your glasses. Certainly not rose coloured. To go to the show and see nothing but negativity, l feel sorry for you. However, your comments told us more about you than the show. Cheer up, buddy. Dave.

So now the mayor wants to replace a caravan park, which brings families together, with a casino, that rips families apart? PalmyPunka

Lefties lauding the late Republican John McCain ONLY because he hated Donald Trump.

Tour de France wannabes, Tomewin Mtn Rd is very narrow & twisty. You selfish morons continue to ride either 2 abreast or take up the entire lane. Find a Velodrome or ride the M1!! Not On

I forgive Edgley for throwing Saturdays Titans game to farewell the great JT.

What a great spot for the G.C show. Hope it becomes a permanent

fixture. As in boardwalk, Ferris wheel, marketta style, all year round. Best thing Southport ever did. Dave

The green-left really are confused. GetUp activists are hilariously calling ScoMo’s renewables-loving lefty-Liberals “coal-huggers”.

The emissions from modern coal power are CO2 and H2O – food and water for plants. Coal emissions add greenery, yet “greenies” hate them. Their much-loved Paris agreement forces us to de-industrialise while India and China can increase emissions to do our manufacturing at our expense. They ignore the fact that Australia and our territorial waters absorb nine times as much CO2 as we emit. PC.

Gold Coast show – great – if you can drive there – people that have no car or can’t drive anymore, you spoilt for choice. You can walk or get on your pushbike – as there is no public transport in Nerang on weekends and public holidays – not one bus – from Mclaren Rd – thanks to our useless politicians. So much for “use public transport” campaign!

Re Errol Chatroom GCB 3 Sept and GC show. Errol you have the market cornered when it comes to whinging that's for sure. No one forced you to go to the free entry show on Friday! I am betting that if everything at the show was free you would still find something to whinge about. I am 69 and I thought the whole thing was pretty cool, well set out and prices reflect modern high cost Australia. Well done carnival people all. ETB

I’m applying for bail. My goldfish is fretting

Good old Westpac always the first to raise interest rates and always the last to lower them, time to shop around. Nafi, Mudgeeraba Well, it looks like we swapped Turnbull for Turnbull 2.0. No cancellation of the Paris agreement even though the heavy hitters are out, chequebook is still out of control under Bishop 2.0; why give money to Royhinga terrorists? Very disappointed and will vote independent now. Go Pauline!

Sick of the bleating about the so-called ‘stolen generation’, It conjures images of 80/90/100% of endangered children being rescued from harm, when in fact it was about 8%. Aboriginal children need as much if not more protection now. BigDog, Carrara

How is it that you can get a disability sticker for your car and then you can go and do lawn bowls for 4hrs is that some sort of a rort? DM
