Rest the key for Matildas

THE Matildas’ World Cup countdown is under way but coach Alen Stajcic holds concerns several senior stars are reaching exhaustion levels.

Stajcic’s side will face Chile twice in November, in Penrith and Newcastle, close on the heels of clashes with England and France a month earlier that herald the start of serious preparation for next year’s World Cup.

But Stajcic, worried over workloads, is set to rest a number of players for the October games in Europe.
