The Gold Coast Bulletin

GOING TO TAKE YOU HIGHER

-

LET’S be honest – we live in a pretty special spot here on the Goldie.

We’ve got the green Hinterland to our west, while the beach and its blue-green oceans beckon from the east.

In between, we have our urban landscape, high rises dominating parts of our coastline before they turn into acreage lots at the foothills.

Then we have everything in between – theme parks, shopping centres, wildlife sanctuaries and parks, and more.

But to see our Gold Coast like we never have before, we need to think differently.

You know, like from the sky. With a drone, more specifically.

Sure, I’ll admit it, I was inspired by our ‘Eye in the Sky’ series of drone footage by our photographer Glenn Hampson. It’s hard not to be inspired when you’re busily looking online for affordable drones.

Unfortunately, I’m not in the position to buy one, but there are some obvious spots to try out your drone for some interesting views of our beautiful city and nature.

Personally, I’d be keen to fly it at Mt Tamborine where the hang gliders disappear, or at the Beechmont plateau.

Snapper Rocks or from Elephant Rock on the southern beaches would also be some amazing places to get amazing footage from.

But, if you’re like me and a drone is not in your budget, there’s always our ‘Eye in the Sky series you can follow.

So happy viewing — Burleigh will be the next drone footage available today.
