Case of whooping cough
PARENTS are urged to be on the lookout for signs of whooping cough after a Gold Coast primary school pupil was diagnosed yesterday.
Parents of children at Pimpama State Primary College were notified via email that a Year 3 pupil had come down with the highly contagious respiratory infection.
In the email, acting Principal Stuart MacKenzie detailed the school’s concerns and urged parents to be aware of early symptoms such as runny nose, low-grade fever and mild, occasional cough.
