E and SE swells gradually fade into the end of the week; initially holding around the 2ft mark on Thursday and Friday before fading to small to tiny levels into the end of the week. A new building trend in SSE swell gets under way on Sunday, before peaking at solid levels across all coasts early next week.

TODAY:

Mix of smaller-scale ESE swell around 2ft+ sets exposed breaks, grading smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light WNW to NW inshore, tending variable, then NNE and freshening to 10 to 15 knots later.

FRIDAY:

Mix of small ESE and SE swells. Mostly clean at about 2ft exposed breaks, grading smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light WNW to NNW tending NNE 10 to 15 knots.

SATURDAY:

Residual ESE swell and slight ENE windswell lingers in the 1 to 2ft range along exposed beaches, grading tiny to near-flat elsewhere. WIND: Early NW to NNW around 5 to 15 knots tending N and increasing to 15 to 25 knots during the afternoon.

SUNDAY:

Potential for rising SSE windswell, picking up to 2 to 3ft+ across northern NSW south facing coasts during the afternoon and to 1 to 2ft+ exposed QLD breaks, possibly bigger later. Grading smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early SW to SSW at 10 to 15 knots tending S 15 to 25 knots during the morning, then SSE in the afternoon.
