New role in education

THE Gold Coast’s top education executive is moving on to greener pastures following a major promotion.

Study Gold Coast CEO Shannon Willoughby was this month appointed to the role of Executive Director of Study Queensland, a position she will officially take up next month.

Ms Willoughby said she was incredibly excited by the opportunity, but the Gold Coast would always hold a special place in her heart.

“The role involves running the state strategy in education and training with the ministerial champion, the Honourable Kate Jones,” she said.

“We are working to continue to develop Queensland and grow the region’s education and training opportunities internationally.

“This will all be part of a $25.3 million strategy.”

No announcement has been made on the now vacant Study Gold Coast position.
