City caught up in sport spectacular

THE Gold Coast will be a hive of sporting action this weekend – from international rugby to ribbon twirling.

The ITU World Triathlon Series Grand Final, Gymnastics Australia’s National Clubs Carnival, the Wallabies-Argentina rugby union Test, an Intrust Super Cup rugby league final, Aussie rules, rugby union and soccer grand finals and the Timbersports Championships will all be held across the Glitter Strip.

“You can’t help but get swept up in all the vibrant atmosphere pulsating through the heart of the Gold Coast,” said Destination Gold Coast CEO Annaliese Battista.

“In addition to the thousands of elite and amateur athletes on the ground, we expect tens of thousands of spectators to pour millions of tourism dollars into our economy.”
