Needle in punnet

-

A COPYCAT has emerged in Queensland’s strawberry-needle crisis as detectives and border officials yesterday began unravelling one of the worst food-tampering attacks in Queensland’s recent memory.

An employee at Coles in Gatton, west of Brisbane, yesterday discovered a sewing needle on top of strawberries in a punnet they had purchased.

It is the fifth similar incident since last week, although the copycat is not linked to two cases in Queensland where sewing needles were inserted into strawberries.
