will the Queensland Government wake up and finally bring in daylight saving?

Not only will it bring it into line with the eastern states’ summertime, it will help business and families with excessive power bills.

In the 1960s, Tasmania was running out of electricit­y and they introduced daylight saving to conserve power.

With all the problems with electricit­y costs, climate change and the UN’s Paris agreement it’s about time the Government looked after the people of Queensland and not just worry about getting re-elected.

Southeast Queensland suffers the most, especially on the Gold Coast. Airline schedules are a mess, business suffers and workers from across the border have trouble with schooling and working.

We should have another referendum on this as it was many years ago and times have changed, especially with the power crisis and climate change. Labor is supposed to be for the workers, so how about looking after them? PAM BAYLES, ISLE OF CAPRI
