LNP bill to stop Fardon walking free and unsupervised
THE Queensland Opposition will introduce an urgent Private Member’s Bill into State Parliament to stop the unsupervised re- lease of paedophile and rapist Robert Fardon’s into the community.
The bill to be tabled by the LNP this week will aim to extend the supervision order of one of Queensland’s most notorious sex offenders.
It has been predicted that Fardon, who is due to be released next month, will come to the Coast.
LNP Leader Deb Frecklington yesterday urged Annastacia Palaszczuk to back the bill.
“As a woman and a mother, I’m horrified that a despicable sexual offender like Robert Fardon could be on our streets in a matter of weeks,” Ms Frecklington said yesterday.
An application to keep Fardon under supervision was this month rejected by the Supreme Court.
