Teens rob taxi driver

TWO teenagers, including one aged just 13, allegedly robbed a taxi driver on the Gold Coast yesterday morning after telling the man they had weapons.

Around 1.30am a taxi driver picked up the pair, aged 13 and 17, from the Esplanade at Paradise Point.

He took them to a service station on Broadwater Ave in Hope Island as per their request.

They demanded cash and stole the 39-year-old man’s bag before fleeing.

Police were called and the dog squad found the two boys in Crescent Ave soon after.

The pair are assisting police with their inquiries.
