Trio makes home run
THREE Gold Coast training buddies have led the way for the city hosting the ITU World Triathlon Standard Distance World Championships.
Gold Coast-based New Zealander Adam Gordon claimed silver in the 35-39 age category yesterday, finishing the 1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run in a time of 1 hour 54 minutes and 35 seconds.
Fellow coach Allison Cooke followed suit in the 45-49 female category.
Troy Ruston took the bronze medal in the 25-29 male division.
It was the second medal of the world titles for both Cooke and Ruston, who both secured bronze in the sprint format on Thursday.
All three medal winners train together on the Gold Coast.
