Spot on, Dave. Teachers encourage girls to speak up yet fail to distinguish between assertiveness and aggression. Pathetic. Adrian.

Dr. Phelps – going for a political career in the seat of Wentworth – another Academic Leftist – more worried about illegal immigrants. How about Australian age care centres – many owned by foreigners anyway – struggling farmers, dodgy child care centres operators – yes – we are sick of our politicians – including you!

Got a letter from lawyers in Caulfield Melbourne about a parking fine in Brisbane. Aren’t we supposed to use local?

New Immigration shake up “encouraging“new immigrants to move to regional areas. It’s like “encouraging“smokers to stop smoking, or “encouraging” druggies to stop taking drugs – I’m encouraging you Minister – to stop dreaming!

Now need a Royal Commission into Australian Rugby. What a disgrace !! Stop overpaying the current crop of Wallabies (aka Want-a-Bees) at the expense & detriment of grassroots rugby would be a good start!! Paid like princes, play like pretenders!! PEDRO

How can judges give sentences but then the criminal is granted parole with little or no time served for the crime. There is no justice for the victim and criminals are not paying for their crimes. The sentencing system really is pathetic.

A lot of young adults these days spend their time and money on smart phones and drugs. Time for some culling. Bring back cracker nite. The morons will blow themselves up. Johnbrew

Do the maths on what it costs to put on the GC600 and minus the real value it brings to the GC. We are in the hole about four million dollars of taxpayers’ money. Names and numbers please. Let’s start firing the bureaucrats. Time for this travesty to go. - Rita

Are we taxpayers funding JP Langbroek’s lifestyle

of social media games on a presumed government-supplied device, commenting on a female’s bustline? Deborah Kelly, please raise your hand to challenge in the next State Election so that we have decent representation. Disappointed Constituent

How many times can the state government dictate what happens on the Gold Coast and stuff it up? Bulldoze our showground and 200 million dollars’ worth of infrastructure to build an athletes village that could have been built on a number of

sites, and will probably end up an ugly slum. Now they want to build a casino that we don’t want on a site in Southport that we don’t want developed and

taken over. Shame on you all. Born and bred Gold Coaster

Totally agree with Treeman. Yes the truck may have been speeding but wot a fool to ride on that road – he was lucky the wind draft did not drag the idiot rider under the wheels. Go ride on another road where there are more lanes or a bike lane. You’re lucky to be alive. S

Buy Strawberries. Dice them, 4 cuts only, don’t let these terrorists win and destroy us. Save jobs, Enjoy strawberries. V

Why is the Government leading the push for a 2nd casino here on the coast. It's a commercial operation and surely should be driven by a commercial operator on self sourced private land who can make a commercial case for an application, that can then be judged by Government on its merits. Keep governments out of private business they have enough trouble running Government business just look at the trains. Oldie The problem of the low Rugby test crowd at Argie bargie test match was the late time of evening staged! And also it was live on tv as well - and easier to watch!

Everyone is focused on rubbishing the Wallabies after the Tui crowd incident but no one has reported Kurtley Beale after the game doing a lap around the ground to thank fans for coming out to a great rugby match. Kurtleyfan

Congratulations to the Aussie Davis Cup team. While they didn’t win they played with pride and integrity a lot different from what certain Aussie tennis players have done. Well done Lleyton and the team.

Congratulations to the Currumbin Eagles Under 19’s. Great win on Sunday, can’t wait till next year. Go Eagles
