FESTIVAL TO FROTH OVER

Gold Coast brewers are preparing to show up the neighbours at the Beer InCider Experience this weekend

-

THE Beer InCider Experience at the Brisbane Showgrounds from Friday to Sunday will feature more than 60 independent breweries including Burleigh Brewing, Black Hops Brewing, Lost Palms Brewing and Balter Brewing. Festival goers will have the chance to sample a variety of brews from local and independent breweries while

enjoying some of Australia’s favourite music performers, all topped off with tasty food.

Event founder Martin Keetels says the tasting event comes after the Beeries Awards, which recognise individual contributions to the beer and cider community on Thursday night at Brisbane’s convention centre. Martin says this year’s program will feature more breweries than ever before and will also have more festival exclusive brews and collaborations.

Burleigh Brewing is bringing a strawberry ginger beer, while Balter has a “special” brew developed by head brewer Scott Hargrave. The beer master remains tight-lipped on the details … “it’s a secret”.

One of the headliners, The Smith Street Band, has teamed with Melbourne’s Fixation

Brewing to create another exclusive, The Lee Hartney Experience Poolside IPA.

There will be plenty of entertainment to support the main stage including a ping pong arena with stadium-style seating so multiple games can take place at once.

True beer aficionados will be able to meet many of the brewers in person to discuss the fruits of their labour.

A range of food trucks will provide meals to “soak up” some of the damage and a number of restaurants will be serving their signature dishes.

The ticket price includes free transport on any Translink bus or Queensland Rail City Network train service (excludes Airtrain).
