THE Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Australian Classic wrapped up at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure yesterday – and it was good news for a local.
With the scores from days one and two combined for the individual all-around and apparatus results, Gold Coast product GeorgiaRose Brown held on to her narrow lead over her training partner Rianna Mizzen to clinch the senior international all-around title with a score of 105.550.
Mizzen was second with 104.175 in a much-improved performance from her Commonwealth Games.
Mizzen had the wood over Brown in the uneven bars apparatus event however.
With both considering the bars their pet apparatus,
Mizzen took out the title with a score of 27.475, just 0.05 ahead of Brown.
The final selection camp and verification looms for the
Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Doha in October – an event which is also the first qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
