WHILE nothing of great significan­ce we should see few windows of opportunit­y present themselves throughout the week ahead. Starting with today we are looking at some smaller left overs in SSE swell fall under a period of lighter winds throughout the morning. Winds shift into the NE tomorrow creating a minor rise in NE wind swell. This minor kick in short period NE swell is expected to hold Thursday morning under period of light NW morning winds.

TODAY

Leftover SSE swell up to 2 to 4ft northern NSW south facing beaches early, grading to 1 to 2ft+ southern Qld exposed coasts and about 1 to 2ft elsewhere with size depending on exposure and easing during the day.

WIND: Early light SW in shore breezes, tending ENE at around 10 knots.

TOMORROW

Smaller E swell overlapped by a minor NE wind swell from around 1 to 2ft+ exposed breaks, grading small/ tiny elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light

NW inshore, tending NNE 15 to 20 knots later.

THURSDAY

Mix of small E swell and peaky NE wind swell early before a new south swell fills in later. Peaky 1 to 3ft exposed breaks easing before a new south swell fills in later . WIND: Early WNW, easing WSW before a fresh 20 to 30 knot SSE change.

FRIDAY

New SSE swell shows across the coast under fresh south, SSE winds. Ranging from a windblown 3 to 5ft at exposed northern NSW beaches. Grading semi clean 1 to 3ft along the SE Qld coasts. WIND: Southerly 20 to 25 knots tending SE and easing to 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon.

SATURDAY

SSE swell slowly eases under moderate SSE winds. Up to 2 to 3ft+ across northern NSW south facing coasts, easing. Grading 1 to 2ft+ exposed Qld breaks, easing. WIND: SSE at 10 to 20 knots, potentiall­y easing later.
