Jarrod’s work impresses Dew

-

SUNS coach Stuart Dew says he was always confident Jarrod Harbrow would play beyond 2018 and labelled the club champion the man who impressed him the most in his first season on the Gold Coast.

“I really tried to come in with no preconceived ideas on players,” Dew said of the 30year-old Harbrow.

“I really wanted to give everyone a fresh start in that sense.

“Harbs obviously had a really good year. Sometimes guys get to that point in their career and they don’t train a lot and get through to games and are able to do that.

“I was really impressed with Harbs. He really trained hard, he was our best trainer all year.

“If you look at it in that sense, we have a whole heap of young guys who are looking at this guy who has just won the best and fairest, he trains to win every week and what a great example.

“You can look around the league and world but we have one here who trained really hard. Having role models like that in the group is a good thing.”
