TPP is not done deal

-

A MASSIVE trade deal has passed the Lower House but Labor is under increasing internal pressure to abandon support for it in the Senate.

Some in the Labor caucus want a course reversal on the Trans-Pacific Partnership because of union concerns about the effect of the 11-country deal on labour market testing, and the ability for companies to sue the Australian Government.

Labor is pointing to the example of New Zealand, which negotiated out of some of the TPP intellectual property provisions, as an option for a future Shorten government.
