Bold choice is just so beautiful
Advertising Feature I Thursday September 20, 2018 HEARING aid customers are becoming trend savvy and opting for devices with bold colours such as blue and silver, says audiologist Suzanne Porter.
Mrs Porter, of A1 Discreet Hearing Aids, said customers were choosing hearing aid colours to match their regularly worn accessories such as watches, jewellery and frame of their current glasses.
“It’s great to see the stigma around wearing hearing aids reducing,” she said.
“The introduction of minute-size devices has seen an increase in customers warming to them; this is good news because those who are fitted with them earlier do better in the long term as the brain can adjust more readily.
“People are generally feeling more excited about their first hearing aids rather than worrying about the stigma. It’s really a result of the incredible step forward in engineering, technology and performance in the hearing aid industry over the past five years.”
She said the first step towards doing something about hearing was to organise an assessment and aid recommendation; A1 Discreet offers this service for free.
A1 also has two managing hearing specialists accredited by the Office of Hearing Services to see pensioners and veterans at no charge through the Hearing Services Program. Rebates are available for those with private health cover.
Clinics are at Q Super Centre Mermaid Waters, Hope Island and Coolangatta.
