WHEN it comes to finding the cutest pet on the Coast, Holly Bames thinks her spunky pup Chloe has what it takes.

But even though Chloe might look like an angel with amazing batlike ears, Ms Bames of Southport says this is not always the case.

“She has a feisty personality that you don’t expect,” she said.

“She likes to play with our other dog but she pounds on him and makes it look like it’s his fault.

“She’s just sassy. Her ears are the size of her head. They’re out of proportion. It’s adorable.”

Ms Bames said she rescued the maltese-cross-chihuahua from a family who didn’t want to keep her after the owner died.

And while Chloe has only been in Ms Bames’s home for about a year, she has managed to fit right in with her quirky personality.

She said when Chloe first met their other dog she was shy – but this quickly changed. Now she’s more than comfortable snuggling up with the other pup.

So with her huge adorable ears, Chloe has been entered into the Gold Coast’s Cutest Pet Competition.

Entries are judged on the most interesting and creative photos showing how cute your pet is but be quick, they close tomorrow night.
