DATING PROJECT NO MEAN FEAT

-

REALITY television is a beast that requires constant attention. The latest incarnation is Channel 7’s Take Me Out which places young men into a bear pit with the ‘Flirty Thirty’ – 30 young women they are trying to impress under trying circumstances. Gold Coasters Rachel Alizzi and Shania Perrett are part of the show and upon meeting them we asked why they had signed up. “I wanted to put myself out there and see what would eventuate. It’s a bit of fun and who knows what could happen,” said Rachel. For Shania, an Instagram star with well over 500,000 followers, it was slightly different. “My agent suggested I do the show and it has been fun. The only difficulty is that the producers want us to be mean and because it is not scripted we have to think on our feet about what to say.” For the record, neither of the two was the least bit mean or spiteful – simply enjoying life in the spotlight.
