DCE set for Kangaroos nod
AUSTRALIA coach Mal Meninga is considering an all-Queensland scrumbase, with Cameron Munster and Daly Cherry-Evans set to deny Souths finals hero Adam Reynolds a dream Test debut.
Reynolds is at long odds to make his Test debut next month despite being the NRL’s form halfback heading into tomorrow’s Souths-Roosters clash at Allianz Stadium.
Reynolds submitted an irresistible case for a Kangaroos call-up for next month’s Tests against New Zealand and Tonga after snapping three field goals to sink the Dragons in last week’s 13-12 finals epic.
Reynolds’ Roosters rival tomorrow, Cooper Cronk, vacated the Australia No.7 jumper after last year’s World Cup victory, opening the door for a new green-and-gold halfback.
But it is understood Reynolds is fighting an uphill battle to clinch a maiden Kangaroos jumper, with Meninga pondering an Maroons halves pairing for the October 13 clash at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium.
