DESPITE thousands of Kiwis crossing the ditch each year for our sunny, sandy shores, until now there was still one thing missing.
Our New Zealand friends won’t have to fly home for Whittaker’s Chocolate anymore, with Coles now stocking the iconic brand at most stores across the Gold Coast.
Whittaker’s chief sales officer Matt Whittaker said the decision came after public demand.
“We’re actively engaged with over 180,000 Australia-based Whittaker’s Chocolate lovers through our social media channels,” he said.
“They’re always asking us for more flavours and more availability in Australia, and we’re delighted to have this opportunity to deliver this through our partnership with Coles, alongside our existing retail stockists.”
Whittaker’s blocks will be available in the international food aisles of participating Coles supermarkets.
New Zealand expat Darrian Brown and his kids Kasey and Jackson were excited to hear their country’s sweet treat would be more freely available here.
“Whittaker’s is iconic in New Zealand,” Darrian said.
“Everybody knows Whittaker’s, it’s the best chocolate in the world I reckon.”
