Cam combo rolled out

QUEENSLANDERS will be stung for speeding and disobeying red lights as new cameras are rolling out in high-risk intersection hot spots.

Police are knuckling down on serious crashes related to motorists speeding and ignoring red lights.

The combined red light speed camera will detect motorists who disobey the red traffic light, as well as motorists who speed through the intersection – meaning the camera will also detect motorists speeding through green and amber lights.

Assistant Commissioner Mike Keating said the intersections for these new cameras was “carefully selected” and would be mainly based in and around Brisbane.
