Musos want say on drugs
THE peak music body in NSW wants a seat on the expert panel created to advise on how to prevent drug-related deaths at festivals.
The panel was established a week ago after two people in their early 20s died, and three others were taken to hospital in a critical condition, following the Defqon.1 music festival in Penrith.
In an open letter to Premier Gladys Berejiklian, NSW Music says any attempt to address concerns about drug use at festivals can’t be effective without including the industry.
“Please do not shut us out of this important part of the discussion,” the letter says.
