Former bikie Geppert has bail application denied

-

FORMER bikie Ben “Notorious” Geppert in the past 12 months has gone from having online feuds with other exgang members to spending time behind bars for a simple trip to the shop.

The Instafamous former Hells Angels member was denied bail yesterday after appearing in Southport Magistrates Court for wilful damage and trespass.

Police allege Geppert damaged his ankle tracker and then ran from them into the Robina Town Centre car park when they tried to speak to him on a warrant. He had been ordered to wear the device as a part of his parole conditions.

Defence lawyer Michael Purcell told the court Geppert denied damaging the small, black device and would contest that charge. Mr Purcell said bail could be granted because Geppert had a stable address and bail breach offences were dated. But Magistrate Brian Kucks denied bail. The matter returns to court on October 16.
