MORRISON BANKS ON ORANGE ARMY TO BUILD SUPPORT
AMID a sea of hi-vis, Scott Morrison has embarked on a charm offensive with the working man as he spruiked his Government’s $75 billion infrastructure program.
Exchanging hearty hand- shakes and posing for pictures with employees at the Downer rail maintenance centre in western Sydney, a buoyant Prime Minister credited his Government with creating jobs such as those in front of him. “When we talk about what that infrastructure means, the dividend of it you can see here,” he said in Auburn. “It’s apprentices, it’s people in work, it’s people in jobs and the long-term contracts that you see here.” Mr Morrison inspected the centre’s railway infrastructure and maintenance works before telling workers they’d all be paying less taxes thanks to his Government. “It is that strong economic management, it is that strong financial management, it is that focus on investment … to get this nationbuilding infrastructure on the ground that is making the difference,” he said.
