Fuel fury at the Feds

-

STATE Government Energy Minister Anthony Lynham says planned real-time fuel-price monitoring has its limits and Federal MPs need to hit the gas on more potent measures.

Dr Lynham will trial fuelprice monitoring for two years from December as driver fury spirals at fluctuations in pricing at bowser.

Opposition MPs John-Paul Langbroek and David Crisafulli have panned the plan for not kicking in immediately and only being a trial.

Dr Lynham yesterday said: “The best solution to high fuel prices would be for the Morrison Government to give its consumer watchdog the teeth it needs to crack down on gouging.

“I urge Gold Coast residents to contact their Federal MPs – Assistant Treasurer Stuart Robert, Defence Industry Minister Steven Ciobo or Industry Minister Karen Andrews – and ask them to use all the levers they have to tackle high fuel prices.”
