NEW CAFE LIVES LIFE IN FAST LANE

- SUZANNE SIMONOT suzanne.simonot@news.com.au

THE newest business on the Gold Coast 600 track is gearing up for a loud debut as one of the few venues inside the Surfers Paradise motor race precinct.

While the Orr family’s Rhapsody Beachside cafe and restaurant quietly opened its doors four months ago, it is already making plenty of noise with locals and visitors. Jennifer Orr, her husband and their 20-year-old son moved to the Gold Coast from Canberra to open the licensed venue on the ground floor of the Rhapsody Resort in Surfers Paradise Boulevard.

The resort, which sits on the hair-pin turn at the southern end of the GC600 track, offers some of the best views on offer during GC600 race weekend.

“We’ve already had lots of people in the building asking about catering,” said Ms Orr.

“It’s going to be loud but we’re going to have to deal with it.”

The venue serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week and dinner from Thursdays to Sundays.

Customers will also be able to order ahead using a downloadable Rhapsody Beachside app.
