Alleged assault over camping

A WOMAN allegedly grabbed a National Parks and Wildlife officer by the hair and dragged him to the ground in an altercation at Byron Bay.

At 6.20am on September 22, the officer went to the Tallows Beach car park to enforce parking rules that had allegedly been breached by a couple parked there in a campervan.

A 21-year-old man from Bonogin and a 19-year-old woman from Highland Park allegedly became aggressive. Both are charged with common assault and will appear in the Byron Bay Local Court on October 4.
