MAKING DREAMS COME TO LIFE

-

THE most surprising thing we witnessed at the Make-AWish ball was the simple requests made by some of the children who are battling life-threatening diseases. Meeting a sporting hero or attending a big event were there of course, but among those were a range of modest desires. One wanted to meet a unicorn, another wished to be an events manager for a day and one young boy wanted a ride-on mower so he could sit with his father while he mowed the lawn. A red puppy, a cubby house, ride in a police car, sail in a boat, re-enact the moon landing, all of them easily arranged and the difference it makes to the lives of the children cannot be measured. When you wish upon a star indeed.
