Mystic Mist started punters’ day on the right note with a win in the first. Jason Taylor settled the $2.50 favourite at the tail of the four-horse field and the Harold Norman-trained three-year-old got the job done.
Ecker Road (Race 7)
Ecker Road ($3.70) was one of the top fancies in the last leg of the quaddie and did a lot of punters a favour with a onelength victory over the $31 outsider Vidarr. Luke Rolls had Ecker Road in the box seat from the outset and the five-year-old stormed home for a popular win. LOSERS
Fire Up Rosco (Race 2)
The $2.90 favourite was never in the hunt.
Holbrook (Race 3) Holbrook might be running out of chances after racking up his fourth placing from his past five starts and is still a maiden after fourteen starts. The $2.10 favourite was given every chance by Anthony Allen and even though he was only beaten a neck to finish third in a three-way finish, it will be hard to back up on him next time.
Dynastic (Race 4)
Dynastic was given the run of the race by Anthony Allen and even though the $3.10 favourite tried hard in the straight he couldn’t match it and wound up in third.
NEXT TIME
Cabeirian (Race 7) Cabeirian had to do plenty of work in the early stages to take up a forward position and then ended up having a tough run sitting outside of the leader Triple Arrow. The Gary Doughtytrained Cabeirian still tried hard in the straight before getting tightened for room at the 1000m and wound up in fourth. Punters who sent Cabeirian out as the $3.10 favourite should give the four-year-old one more go.
