CAVORTING CAVOODLE LAPS UP HIS FIRST BEACH TRIP

- EMILY HALLORAN

THE sun came out for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend and although the winds may not have been pleasant, it didn’t stop two new best friends from spending the day at the beach.

Robina’s Arcadia Quixley, 5, took her 14-week-old cavoodle, Remmie (short for Rembrandt), to the beach at Miami.

“It was my puppy’s first day at the beach. It was windy, but he loved it,” Arcadia said.

“We had lots of fun jumping off rocks and getting some fresh air in the sun.”

But after a great day yesterday, more rain and storms are on the way, Weatherzone’s Jack Cronje said yesterday.

“There will be the odd showers during the next couple of days due to very moist onshore winds,” he said. “There looks to be some heavy rain and thunderstorms coming on Thursday afternoon and evening, and that will carry into Friday. There is the potential for heavy rain.”

And we can expect above average temperatures and a drier Gold Coast for the next three months.

“In terms of rainfall from October to December, the Gold Coast looks like it will be below the average and a bit drier than usual,” Mr Cronje said. “Most of the rain will be thunderstorms and occasional showers.”
