SPRING OUT FOR BRUTAL

BOOM colt Brutal will miss the rest of the spring after a minor injury setback.

The unbeaten three-yearold was being aimed at the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes but will now be spelled after receiving a cut to his hock.

Trainer Wayne Hawkes said the injury wasn’t serious.

“He just hurt himself in the box and the end result is he’s not 100 per cent so he is heading to the paddock,” Hawkes told racing.com.

“We’ve said it all along unless he’s 100 per cent we wouldn’t hesitate to put him in the paddock. It’s not life threatening and we’ve always been looking forward to the autumn with him.”
