Cyber safe schools bid

AUSTRALIA’S e-safety commissioner has called for all students to be taught about cyber safety at school after data showed one in five young people are victims of online bullying.

Julie Inman Grant also says online awareness should begin at home after the agency’s research showed 42 per cent of two-year-olds have been given a device with internet.

“The minute we hand over a device is when we need to start talking to our kids about respect, responsibility, but also let them know they can come to us if something goes wrong,” she told ABC radio yesterday.
