JILLAROOS TEENAGER TO REVEL

-

RHIANNON Revell-Blair usually spends school holidays playing footy.

But heading to Papua New Guinea with the Prime Minister’s XIII women’s team will be an entirely new experience for the Brisbane schoolgirl.

Revell-Blair, 17, will get her first taste of the green and gold senior ranks when she takes on PNG on Saturday.

She played for Queensland this year and is a dual-code star, also playing rugby sevens for Australia.

She was too young to play in the inaugural NRLW this season but hopes to secure a Broncos contract next year.

The women’s team departs Brisbane for Port Moresby today and Revell-Blair said this wasn’t very different to any other school holidays.

“I’m usually playing rugby league or sevens,” she said.

“It’s an honour being 17 and coming off playing State of Origin for Queensland. It has pushed me to train harder and be a better person to get to where I want to be.

“PNG will bring really tough competition but hopefully we come away with the win. I haven’t been there so it’s a new experience.”

Jillaroos representative Rebecca Young will captain the team.
