Bulls charge on in cup
QUEENSLAND will play Tasmania on Saturday for a spot in the JLT One-Day grand final after downing South Australia by 24 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method at North Sydney Oval yesterday.
The Bulls piled on 5-363 courtesy of half-centuries from Sam Heazlett (83), Joe Burns (80 not out), Jimmy Peirson (70) and Chris Lynn (68).
Lynn’s 70-ball knock marked the fifth time in six games he had passed 50.
The Redbacks started strongly to reach 0-89 in reply before Gold Coast Dolphins spinner Matt Kuhnemann (3-60) helped apply the brakes.
They were still in the game at 4-295 but a steady loss of wickets saw them bowled out for 334 in the 48th over.
