Sale proceeds frozen

-

THE proceeds from last weekend’s sale of an alleged ice kingpin’s $1-million Brisbane trophy home have been frozen by the Supreme Court.

Last week Justice James Douglas ordered the “net sale proceeds” of Adon Minh Nguyen’s Eight Mile Plains home be restrained, after a request by the Crime and Corruption Commission.

The five bedroom house – described as “stunning” and in one of the suburb’s “most prestigious estates” – was sold at auction on Saturday, records show. Nguyen, 37, is in Woodford prison awaiting trial on a charge of trafficking in ice between July 31, 2017 and March 2, 2018, according to documents filed in the Supreme Court as part of the bid to freeze his assets under proceeds of crime laws.
